Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Archaeology - Carleton College, Archaeology Program

Teaching responsibilities may include the following courses:
-ARCN 112: The Archaeology of North America (a broad survey offered at the introductory level)
-A methods course in an area of the candidate’s specialization (e.g., ceramics analysis, lithics, bioarchaeology, geoarchaeology, archaeogenetics, etc.).
-A cultural-historical course in an area of the candidate’s specialization (e.g., the ancient Maya, Caribbean archaeology, the archaeology of the Arctic, the Pacific Northwest, Mississippian culture, the US Southwest, the Amazon, etc.). Ideally this would not replicate regular offerings in the Andes, but may focus on other aspects of South American archaeology or any aspect of North American archaeology.
-A thematic/theoretical course with a global remit (e.g., ancient cities, empires, writing systems, colonialism, etc.)
