CITY Event: Queerburbia: A Dialogue about LGBTQ2S Suburban Place-making

For anyone who is in Toronto next month, please join us for the launch of Queerburbia: LGBTQ2S Suburban Place-Making (Routledge 2025), on Friday September 12th from 1-3pm in the Faculty of Environmental Studies (EUC), HNES 140 at York University. The authors, Alison Bain and Julie Podmore will be in conversation with York University colleagues Ranu Basu, Catriona Sandilands, and Chan Arun-Pina. For more information see the attached poster.

Please register to attend our book launch at: https://www.yorku.ca/cityinstitute/events/queerburbia-a-dialogue-about-lgbtq2s-suburban-place-making/

The book launch accompanies an exhibition of the same name in the Zig Zag Gallery of EUC, celebrating a reorganized selection of photographs and stories from queerburban research participants on the peripheries of Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. The artist-curator-scholar Chan Arun-Pina has curated this exhibition, creating original artwork that reinterprets the photographs and collective counter-maps, inviting your engagement and reimagination of queerburbia. This exhibition runs until the end of October.
