Graduate Assistant (Research) - Half Fixed, Sociology Department
Under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Apooyak’ii / Tiffany Hind Bull-Prete, the Graduate Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting a community-led research project focused on the preservation and organization of oral histories shared by Kainai Elders. This work will involve the transcription of recorded interviews, as well as the organization, categorization, and thematic analysis of the stories that emerge from these conversations.
The project is grounded in Indigenous research methodologies and honors the knowledge systems, worldviews, and lived experiences of Kainai Elders. The research assistant will be expected to work with cultural sensitivity, humility, and a deep respect for the protocols and relationships that guide this work.
This is a meaningful opportunity for a student passionate about Indigenous knowledge systems, oral history, and community-based research
