Tenure-track position in French Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor
University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus
We seek a candidate with a background in francophone literature of Canada with specific
expertise in at least two of the following areas: Quebec literature, Francophone literature of
Canada outside Quebec, Francophone Indigenous literature, post-colonialism, feminist literature,
environmental literature, BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ literature. This position is interdisciplinary,
illuminating the intersections of minority language and culture. The disciplinary scope of the
position is not limited to a specific period and may bridge the gap between the present and its
historical, social, and geo-political contexts. By its nature, it is far-ranging and inclusive, touching
on the societal challenge of hierarchies, the literary treatment of the environment, the history of
New France, and/or cultures in contact.
