Mac Simpson Award
Description of Award:
If you are a student of African descent who is currently attending a secondary school in the Essex County region and will be commencing post-secondary studies in September 2023 on a full-time basis, you can apply for the Mac Simpson Award!
The Maturine-Romain Award
Description of Award:
A one-time scholarship of up to $2,000 may be awarded annually by The Amherstburg Freedom Museum on Behalf of Dr. Bernice McKenzie. To honour the memory and lives of Evelina Maturine and Lucie Romain, the grandmothers of Dr. Bernice McKenzie, this scholarship has been created to support and encourage students of African descent as they pursue post-secondary studies.
Applications Available May 1, 2023 and due by June 24, 2023
