Student award for immigration research

The Canadian Immigration Historical Society (CIHS) and the Local Engagement Refugee
Research Network (LERRN) and the Department of History at Carleton University, Ottawa,
announce a new research partnership for students. The partners will support student research
on migration to and settlement in Canada and so help preserve Canada’s immigration history.
Said CIHS President, Dawn Edlund, “We are quite enthused to begin working with Carleton
University and LERNN and jointly offer the annual Gunn Prize of $1,000. This prize recognizes
excellence by a fourth-year undergraduate or graduate student in a research paper on the
historical evolution of Canadian immigration policy and programs.”

The 2022 deadline for submissions is June 30, 2022.
