Call for papers

Anthropologica, the journal of the Canadian Anthropology Association (CASCA), invites you to submit articles for peer review.

We welcome articles in both French and English that engage with any field of sociocultural anthropology, covering a broad range of topics relevant to the dynamics of contemporary life. We welcome articles that are grounded in innovative methodologies, such as visual anthropology, community engaged research, and critical studies of materiality. Submissions should be based on original ethnographic fieldwork in any part of the world.

In addition to research articles, Anthropologica publishes special theme sections proposed by a guest editor. Recent theme sections have addressed hierarchy in the Pacific, language change in the circumpolar North, and the politics of documentation. We also welcome shorter conceptual debates and creative reflections on ethnographic field work, which we publish under the headings of “Ideas” and “Anthropological Reflections.” “Practitioner’s Corner” is reserved for anthropologists working outside of academic teaching, in contract research, public administration, museums, or private industry. We also welcome museum installation and film reviews incorporating various media and formats.
