Weather Matters spring series - call for papers

Dear colleagues,

Following the excellent response to our autumn series, Weather Matters is back with a spring call for papers that engage with the discourse(s) of climate change and how we study them. Please feel free to share the call widely among potential contributors and students across disciplines!

This spring series invites inter-and multi-disciplinary submissions concerning climate change as an idea and conversation. This could include the ethics surrounding climate denialism, how we as scholars should engage with this term, the political discourses at play in engaging or not with climate change, understandings of climate science and causation of change, and media coverage. We are especially interested in pieces concerning methodologies of scholarship: how can we approach different climate discourses and what are the methodological hurdles and complications in doing so?

We welcome contributions from across disciplines- be it anthropology, sociology, history, media studies, STS, politics, journalism, art. The inclusion of visual media is, as always, strongly encouraged.

The deadline for submissions is March 30th, 2019 and pieces should be no longer than 1000 words. Please send submissions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You are most welcome to send ideas, sketches, or rough outlines before the deadline should you wish, and please do get in touch with any queries.

Best wishes,
